Standing up for the vulnerable is always a noble initiative, especially when organizations join hands.

The Executive Mayor Cllr Linah Malatjie joined the march as she saw it fit to stand up for those who cannot fight for themselves.

“This initiative of 16 days of activism should not be for 16 days, but for 365 days. ‘No’ is a full sentence and men should understand that. Moral regeneration movement is very important to revive lives of the community,” said Cllr Malatjie.

The community is urged to be aware of the cases of GBV within their neighborhood.

“Any cases of child abuse or neglect should be reported to organizations such as Child Welfare, to be able to help the vulnerable. As the festive season is approaching, many will leave their children unattended. If you see such cases, please contact Child Welfare on 013 656 2471,” said Siphiwe Ndlovu, acting office manager at Child Welfare.
