Hosia putting his foot down against GBV

Hosia is not done with writing books; he mentions that he has three books which he will launch in the next few years.

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) has had a shocking increase every year.

According to Stats SA, South Africa’s statistics are above the world average.

This moved Hosia Malekane as this issue invaded society, especially in institutions of higher learning.

The 66-year-old real estate agent says that his new book was written to address the exacerbating gender-based prejudices and violence affecting the country. Hosia was born in Lynville and is a very concerned gender activist.

He was inspired by the words of the late Martin Luther King Jr that says, “There comes a time when silence is betrayal.

Hosia was influenced to write after he saw the horrific GBV statistics during the 2018/2019 period. This moved him as he saw that women are suffering in silence; he also wondered what drives men to kill the ones they love.

“Men need to join our women’s sorrowful cries and be heard publicly denouncing gender-based violence. We also need to be seen rebuking those among us who are perpetrators. Silence is capitulation,” said Hosia.

The book titled ‘The imperatives of revoking our silence’ will be available from Monday, November 29 from the author at R270 each.

Hosia is not done with writing books; he mentions that he has three books which he will launch in the next few years.
