Oak-Hearts has the ‘purrfect’ challenge for local schools

Donations are getting less. Times are getting so much harder and tighter.

In every community, there are always kindhearted people, people who would go the extra mile, even if it is only for a furry friend.

Tash Tatton is well-known for the love of cats as she started a project on her own, Tash Tatton CAT Sterilisation.

On October 23, the sad story was shared on social media where it stated that the much loved Tash, Ursula Wilkinson, Michelle Eksteen and their cats were in a crisis.

“We are faced with a situation straight from hell. The vet officially froze our Cats Corner SA vet account for our 120-plus cat kids as we are far overspent. Now means no sterilizations, vet care, medications or emergencies…”

This is where the ‘pay it forward’ method spread like a wildfire. As the kind and warm-hearted cat ladies got back what they put into loving and caring for all the furry friends out there.

The Oak-Hearts Kleuter Akademie team along with all their little learners took hands and gathered a load full of cat goodies to donate to Tash Tatton CAT Sterilisation (Cats Corner SA).

This generous donation turned into a great challenge to all the local schools in eMalahleni.

“We want to dare every school in our city to make a difference, even with the smallest gesture,” said the Oak-Hearts team.

“We don’t want to start reducing our colonies by putting some cat kids to sleep. It’s like choosing which child to kill. No, totally unacceptable!!! We don’t want to be forced into that position. Please, please save us from sinking in this horrific quicksand.” Tash concluded.
