Business robbery gone wrong, suspects are still on the run

One of the suspects was shot at a business robbery attempt.

Police in Vosman is searching for a group of suspects who attempted to commit a brazen business robbery at a filling station in KwaGuqa in Extension 10.

The robbery attempt was on Monday, November 22.

The complainant, who is an SBV security guard, went with a technician to fix an Automated Teller Machine (ATM). While the guard was waiting outside, two unknown males pointed him with firearms.

They tried to push him inside to join his colleague who was busy fixing the ATM.

The complainant tactically took out his firearm and managed to fire some shots at the suspects while running for cover.

He heard bystanders saying that one person has been shot and fell on the ground in front of the filling station.

He then went to check, but the injured suspect stood up and stumbled into a white VW Polo.

In another unrelated incident which also occurred on the same day at about 15:30, in a certain clothing shop situated at a shopping complex in Vosman, a group of about five unknown males entered the shop and forced all the employees to the cash room.

The suspects pretended as if they were armed with firearms by holding their waists and demanded money in the process.

They then robbed the shop of an undisclosed amount of cash as well as other valuable items.

No one has been arrested in these incidents and police request anyone who has information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact Detective Colonel One Thobejane at 082 372 2195.
