The Mpumalanga Department of Education is deeply concerned and saddened with the increased number of killings of school security guards within the province.
On the morning of Thursday, November 18 the school principal of Allendale Secondary School discovered the body of the security guard and immediately reported it to the authorities.
On the paramedics and SAPS arrival, the guard was declared dead.
The Department sent officials out to support the school and gather information about the circumstances surrounding the incident and provide the required psychosocial assistance.
The MEC for Education, Mr Bonakele Majuba has condemned this incident with the strongest contempt it deserves and will be visiting the school on Monday, November 22, to get a detailed report on the incident.
