BTM Sports held to a 1-1 draw by Kanyamazane All Stars

Mother Nature had other plans on Saturday afternoon.

Thunderstorms, strong winds, and a mistake by the BTM goalkeeper contributed to a draw match in the dying minutes between BTM Sports and Kanyamazane All Stars.

The ABC Motsepe League match was played at the Puma Stadium on Saturday, November 13.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw.

A nice sunny Saturday afternoon soon turned into a rainy and windy afternoon when nature took over as the weather changed while the teams were already on the field of play towards the end of the first half.

Both teams started the game on a casual mode, but All Stars had a chance when they were awarded a place-kick and the ball just went wide.

BTM had a chance when their winger Ashton Jacobs tries to dribble past a number of players only to shoot high.

Another player had a wide shot trying to register a goal. All Stars also had their fair chance to score, but they could not register a goal.

They substituted Junior Sibiya for Aphile Maseko.

Wind and rain made play very difficult for the teams just minutes before halftime. BTM forward Mtho Skosana pressed hard for a goal before the teams changed for halftime at 0-0.

In the second half with the weather changing the teams could again play their normal game.

A BTM player, Patrick Mubayiwa had his shot over the crossbar when he tried at close range.

All Stars player Frans Marape coming from the side of the field pushed forward only to have his shot saved for a corner-kick. Both teams made some substitutes changes and their presence was felt with both teams attack-minded. BTM scored their goal after a corner-kick and the ball was headed in.

With BTM leading, everybody has thought that BTM will bang the three points only for a mistake by BTM keeper Lehlohonolo Khaile for the ball passing between his legs and enabling All Stars to equalise in the dying minutes of the game.

BTM has played six games, won one, drawn two, lost three in the process, and managed five points. Their next game will be against FC Benfica on Saturday, November 20.
