WYAC Bonfire keeping people warm and entertained

Good company, good people and a lit fire at WYAC.

The dark sky was lit by the bright flames that came from the bonfire in Bankenveld.

The Witbank Yacht and Aquatic Club (WYAC) members came to celebrate their annual Bonfire night (in French, “bon” means “good”), which was attended by many.

The fire was made on Saturday, November 6 at the Witbank Yacht and Aquatic Club and members arrived earlier to relax and enjoy the sunset before the fire started.

There was a special performance by Coenie Bernhardt who entertained the guests just before the fire was started.

The “good fire” event is usually celebrated in November at night which gives people the opportunity to exercise their photography skills as the fire can be seen from a distance.

The fire was lit just after sunset and the flames were blazing, showing warm red and orange.

John Wegerle said that the event was a success and he was happy to see the people after the Covid-19 lockdown hiatus.
