EYASA shaping the future one school at a time

EYASA visiting schools to make a difference in children's lives.

Emalahleni Youth against Substance abuse (EYASA) continues to empower and give knowledge to young people around eMalahleni. The organisation made visit in various schools around eMalahleni to speak about things that affect the youth.

Along with the Emalahleni Local Municipality Substance Abuse Desk known as the Transversal Unit, EYASA gave inspirational talks about Life after Matric, depression, substance abuse, teenage pregnancy, bullying and building one’s self esteem. EYASA took their time to visit Elukhanyisweni Primary School, Bonginsimbi Comprehensive School, W H De Klerk School, Pine Ridge Secondary School and Edu-College Combined School. They will continue with the initiative at Kopanang Secondary School and end with Coronation Secondary School.

On Thursday, October 21, Pine Ridge Secondary School had a pleasure of having EYASA and SAPS official to visit them. They were also accompanied by Nomathandazo Mathole from EYASA and Zama Precious Ngema who is an author and motivational speaker. Zama spoke about her personal journey of how being bullied in school affected her. She encouraged the learners to be kinder to one another and to stand up for each other.

“It is important to be kind to others as you might need them one day,” added Ngema.
