Charity sticks to her name

Charity started Gracious Givers Charity to give to the fragile and neglected

Charity Collet Silinda (28) is true to the name she carries.

In 2016 Gracious Givers Charity was started by Charity to collect any charitable items and give them to the beneficiaries who are mostly children and older people because they are very close to Charity’s heart.

“They are fragile, but mostly neglected, and they fall victims to abuse. I believe that they always deserve to be shown lots of love and attention,” said Charity.

After completing Grade 12 at Zacheus Malaza Secondary School, she studied Business Management at Nkangala FET College.

As both her parents are pastors, she was able to meet people from different backgrounds and different age groups at the church.

In 2014 her parents started an old age centre called Faith Fit and Health Old Age Centre, and she was part of it.

It was during this time that Charity realised how illiterate most elderly people were at the centre and made it her responsibility to teach them how to read and write.

Those were her weekly tasks, working from 09:00 till 17:00.

The fulfilment of changing people’s lives brought something to her own life and has encouraged her to do more and touch more lives.

She entered Mpumalanga Miss and Mrs pageants because she was looking for a platform that will help her become the best version of herself and give her the exposure and encourage her to keep chasing her dreams alongside other empowered women.
