Des Fairbanks takes the Gold fleet winner for micro sailing

Over 37 competitors around the country competed in the national competition.

A fantastic 2021 South African National Championships Dragon Flite 95 national sporting event was hosted by Witbank Yacht and Aquatic Club (WYAC).

The event was held from Thursday, October 7 and many competitors around the country came to compete for the gold, silver and bronze winner titles.

There were also mornings that delayed the starts because of no wind, but later in the day hectic races took place in strong and blowing hard winds.

Des Fairbanks took the overall gold winner title in micro sailing followed by Michael Davies, who took first place in the silver fleet title, while Carol Booth came first for the bronze title in micro sailing.

A prize giving ceremony followed on Sunday evening where the winners were congratulated. With the hours competitors spent in the elements over four days, all the winners were happy with the event.
