Truck driver stops to sleep, later shot through the hand
Police investigated the scene, the suspects gained entry through the palisade fence
For truck drivers travelling most of the time on the road, they get tired and stop at random places to get some sleep before travelling to their final destination.
On Wednesday, October 6 at approximately 01:00 the complainant stopped his truck in a safe parking stop in Kromdraai to get some sleep.
He eventually got off the truck to go to the bathroom before travelling on.
While walking to the bathroom he noticed four unknown men, one was armed with a firearm.
The suspects asked the truck driver where the security guards were and he pointed at the guard house.
The suspects made the truck driver to lie down, while they searched the truck.
The truck driver’s cell phone was taken; they then shot him in the left hand and left the scene.
Police investigated the scene, the suspects gained entry through the palisade fence and a case of attempted murder has been opened at Witbank Police Station.
