Notorious crash corner has one more scar

Mpumalanga MEC for Community Safety appeals to motorists to be more responsible

Silly season is still a few weeks away, but accidents are tallying up already.

On Friday, October 8 a woman needed medical assistance after the airbags in her car were deployed when a car allegedly crashed into her.

The woman, who was still much shaken, was tended to by emergency personnel as cars drove by slowly on the corner of Gordon Road and OR Tambo Road.

Ms Irene van Rheede van Oudtshoorn said she was okay.

Mr Jaco Msebe said he was turning right into OR Tambo Road when Van Rheede van Oudtshoorn all of a sudden was in front of him.

“I could not avoid the accident,” he said.

Mpumalanga MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, MEC Vusi Shongwe is concerned about the number of accidents.

He appealed to motorists to be more responsible on the roads.
