R350 grant can now be collected from the Post Office, Pick n Pay or Boxer stores

Beneficiaries will never be asked to enter personal information on their cell phones or to click on a link

Approved recipients of the R350 SRD grant can collect their benefit from Pick n Pay and Boxer stores nationwide from Wednesday, September 22.

This is in addition to the post office, where beneficiaries can still collect.

Grant recipients who qualify, will receive an SMS from Sassa that says they can also collect their grant from Pick n Pay or Boxer stores can use the new collections points.

“Pick n Pay and Boxer stores are proud to assist grant beneficiaries access to their funds more conveniently and safely, ensuring they receive much needed relief quicker than before,” says John Bradshaw, retail executive at Pick n Pay.

The system will also relieve pressure on post offices.

This is how you will collect the R350 grant from Pick n Pay or Boxer stores: You will receive an SMS from Sassa confirming your application was successful.

You will then receive an SMS message from Sassa that says where you can collect it and the day of collection.

You must take your ID and cell phone (number registered at Sassa) along to the store when collecting your grant.

Enter your ID number and the cell phone number you used to apply for the grant at the till to confirm you want your grant.

You will immediately receive a message on your cell phone, which you must approve on your phone before the cash is handed over.

Beneficiaries will never be asked to enter personal information on their cell phones or to click on a link.

Pick n Pay and Boxer stores do not manage the application and approval of grant funds, or when and where collections can be made.

This process is run entirely by Postbank. Pick n Pay collection points are supermarkets only, not at BP Pick n Pay Express, Pick n Pay Clothing and Pick n Pay Liquor stores.
