Hlalanathi Pre-School ready to grow after a donation made

Over 40 cups and plates were donated to the school along with five litres of hand sanitizer.

Hlalanathi Pre-School children came rushing out from their classrooms, full of excitement when Child Welfare donated essentials that the preschool needed.

The donation handover was on August 30 at KwaGuqa Ext 16.

Over 40 cups and plates were donated to the school along with five litres of hand sanitizer. Hand-made masks were also handed to the children that were worn on the day.

“We identified this school through the Department of Social Development when they registered and we wanted to assist them to grow. We saw a lot of potential as we knew Ms Josephine Mahlangu used to look after children within her community,” said Ms Thandi Riba, an auxiliary social worker at Child Welfare SA.

Ms Mahlangu, school principal at Hlalanathi Pre-School said that the donation made a big impact on them.

“We needed this donation as we are still a small school. We usually ask parents to send their children with masks, yet some of the children don’t have them, but Child Welfare SA went the extra mile and brought us masks,” Ms Mahlangu said.
