Our own Percy Tau set to play for Al Ahly

Mosimane is one of the longest-serving and most decorated coaches in all of South African football.

Our own ambassador eMalahleni born and Bafana-Bafana and Brighton star player Percy Tau is set to join Africa’s powerhouse team Al Ahly.

A lot has been said about the move to Africa’s team of the century, while others see it as a bad move other people think otherwise.

The main argument centred on game time Tau was not getting at the club playing in the English Premiership League.

It is a known fact that he was not getting any game time at the club while now he will team up with his former coach at Mamelodi Sundowns Pitso Mosimane coaching at Al Ahly in Egypt.

After joining the club in 2018 he was loaned out to Royal Union in Belgium after failing to secure a work permit in England and again loaned at another club, Club Brugge also in Belgium.

While at Anderlecht he was recalled by his club Brighton, but he was not featured regularly.

Now Tau need is game time and that is what he is going to get at Al Ahly which in turn will help the national team, Bafana-Bafana.

Tau and Mosimane have come a long way together and it is hoped that teaming up again will bear positive results for Al Ahly and Bafana-Bafana.

Mosimane is one of the longest-serving and most decorated coaches in all of South African football, having won multiple major trophies with SuperSport United between 2001 and 2007 and Mamelodi Sundowns between 2012 and 2020.

He also coached the national soccer team.

Last year in September, Mosimane joined Al Ahly as their head coach.

During the same year in November, he led Al Ahly to their ninth CAF Champions League title, after winning the 2020 final.

This year in July, Al Ahly won their second CAF Champions League title under Mosimane and their 10th in total after a 3–0 win over Kaizer Chief in the finals.
