August is dedicated to women.

Witbank SAPS female members celebrated Women’s Month with the implementation of Operation BASADI.

On Friday, August 13, the Women in Blue started their anti-crime operation with condoning and search at Spring Valley informal settlement.

During the search, one female suspect was arrested for selling liquor without a license, and three male suspects were arrested as illegal immigrants.

The policewomen continued their operation to MNS informal settlement, where interaction took place with several women of the community.

During the discussions, females were informed about gender-based violence and the pro-active prevention thereof.

Brigadier Sifiso Cele, Station Commander of Witbank Police Station, commended the Women in Blue for their dedication and commitment in ensuring that Witbank Police forms part of the government’s national calendar of events in celebrating the role of every woman in the police.
