Vosman’s bogus doctor faces charges of amongst others fraud

Vosman’s fake doctor will be back in court in September.

A 37-year-old suspect appeared in Vosman Magistrate’s Court facing a charge of fraud and corruption.

The suspected bogus doctor, Henri Kabamba Kabenga (37) appeared in court on Monday, August 16 relating to practising as a doctor by seeing patients and issuing medicines without being registered with the Health Profession Council of South Africa (HPCSA).

Kabenga will be back in court on 14 September.

He was arrested during a disruptive operation by members of the Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation team in Mpumalanga together with an inspector of HPCSA on Friday, August 13 at Vosman Policing area.

“The team reacted to the information that was received about a person who was practising as a doctor without being registered,” Captain Dineo Sekgotodi from the Hawks confirmed.

Kabenga was found upon arrival at the premises he used for his practice, and the receptionist confirmed that he was the doctor on duty.

A search was conducted and the suspect did not have valid documentation that allowed him to practice as a doctor.
