Foster parents equipped to take care of little ones

At the training parents were given more information on how to respond to challenges

Foster parents were empowered with parenting skills, communication skills and budget and savings of foster care grants.

The training was held on August 12 at Child Welfare and was facilitated by Thandi Riba and Charlotte Mthembu.

Parents were given more information on how to respond to challenges that they might face as they foster children.

The training was also aimed at checking and rehabilitating them as they were in lockdown and how the pandemic affected them.

Sibongile Mokwadube, a foster parent for children said that she is more enlightened and has a better understanding of how to communicate with her children.

Mokwadube added that Child Welfare SA should hold more parenting skills programs for other foster parents and continue to be of great service to the community.
