Gogo Elsie (86) needs help

She applied for an RDP house years ago and is still waiting

Not only is Gogo Elsie Mlangeni stays in an overcrowded house she also has to take care of her adopted daughter who is a wanderer.

Gogo Mlangeni has to take care of the adopted daughter who does not have an ID document.

She came to live in eMalahleni in 2012 from Vaalbank and life has been a struggle as she also has applied for an RDP house all these years.

“I have applied for an RDP house all these years and I only receive only negative results about my application. I am presently staying in my son’s RDP house in Klarinet and we are overcrowded.”

Gogo Mlangeni says his son stay with his wife in the house but to make matters worse as her son is blind.

Her grandchildren would love to come and visit her but because of overcrowding they cannot.

Members of the local disabled group, Emalahleni Independent Living are trying their best to assist Gogo Mlangeni to fast track her house application and also trying to apply for her adopted daughter’s ID who sometimes stays away for weeks without a trace.
