Highveld Mall Pick n Pay continues to stretch its hand to the needy

Highveld Mall Pick n Pay keeps on taking care of the needy.

Highveld Mall Pick n Pay has stretched its hand to the needy by donating food parcels and blankets to Jabez Food Bank charity.

According to the customer service manager Elizabeth Castro since the Mandela Day initiative started, Pick n Pay started giving back to the community and they launched a Blanket and Food drive this year.

They identified Jabez Food Bank as their chosen charity and donated warm blankets and food.

Ms Castro added that they’re still going to donated to many charity homes and orphanages as well to the less fortunate people on eMalahleni because as the economic hub of this city they depend on the people to support them so that they can be able to sustain a better development of eMalahleni.

“We wanted to show Jabez Food Bank that we appreciate and acknowledge them. We also want to promise the people of eMalahleni that we will always give back to them and show the support, just like they did in protecting our malls from being looted. Therefore in that regards we want to give them our love from the bottom of our hearts,” said Ms Castro.

The manager of Jabez Food Bank Odetter Rossouw said: “This came as a surprise I don’t know how to thank Pick n Pay for coming through for us. It shows that good people still exists out there, this donation is going to make a huge difference in our people, it’s going to wipe the tears of sorrow and bring tears of joy.

Thank you Pick n Pay you have made a huge difference,” she said.

Ms Castro concluded by thanking all the people who took part in protecting the shopping centers from being looted especially the taxi drivers because they spent almost a week, traveling around eMalahleni to ensure that there is not looting taking plays. Pick n Pay promises to make everyday a Mandela day.
