Glencore helps the elderly to keep warm this winter

Over 330 blankets were given to the elderly as a part of the 67 minutes for Mandela drive

The Covid-19 pandemic may have brought a lot of challenges, but it has not stopped people from giving and showing compassion to others.

Glencore, iMpunzi operation with contractors reached out to farms (Vandyksdrift, Albion, Matsheka, Kwaburry and Rietspruit) around eMalahleni to make a difference for the 67 minutes for Madiba.

The Glencore team led by Sibusiso Mbebe, Community Development Superintendent made the generous donation on July 23, and the elderly were delighted to know that they would be warm this winter. Ward Councillor of ward 33, Cllr Thembi Shabalala and the community leaders of the farms identified the elderly of the various farms and reached out to the Glencore team that was willing to assist them.
