MEC Busi Shiba on a vaccination drive in the province

This is part of the vaccination drive to encourage every citizen in Mpumalanga to register to be vaccinated

Following a successful registration on the Electronic Vaccination Data System (EVDS), Mpumalanga MEC of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Busi Shiba, received her Covid-19 vaccine recently.

The MEC was scheduled to receive her vaccination on Monday, July 19 at the Carolina Hospital in the Albert Luthuli Local Municipality.

This is part of the vaccination drive to encourage every citizen in Mpumalanga to register to be vaccinated. The MEC discourages all the misinformation and myth about the vaccine.

She urges the next category of 35 years and above to seize the chance and register on the Electronic Vaccination Data System from Thursday, July 15.

“The EVDS has opened for the younger population from July 15, therefore we urge our 35-year-olds and above to respond positively to this call and register in their numbers to be vaccinated and this category is expected to start receiving the vaccine from 1 August,” said MEC Busi Shiba

“Getting vaccinated is an important part of the solution against the pandemic, and communities are urged to continue to be vigilant and to take precautionary measures to protect themselves and everyone by adhering to non-pharmaceutical measures to break the rate of transmission. Always wear a mask, maintain social distance, avoid large crowds and gatherings, and wash your hands with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitiser,” said MEC Shiba.

The MEC has praised everyone who has chosen to receive the vaccine and said they are now ambassadors for this critical tool in the fight against Covid-19.
