Mr World South Africa finalist is not left discouraged

The 29-year-old entered Mr World South Africa 2021 with the intention of changing the narrative of how a boy is raised in a community.

Simphiwe Mabena has always aspired to make a difference in people’s lives. From an early age, he has always tried to make lives better, and he still continues to.

The 29-year-old entered Mr World South Africa 2021 with the intention of changing the narrative of how a boy is raised in a community. Even though he didn’t take the grand title, the Phola-born model still hopes to make a difference in his community.

Mabena has been passionate about the Boy-child campaign that he started in 2020. The campaign is focused on fighting social issues such as alcohol, drugs and other substance abuses that are faced by young boys in communities.

Simphiwe was also a part of Mr Mpumalanga 2020 where he competed against other hopefuls. He managed to get into the Top 5 of the competition, yet this didn’t leave him discouraged as he is still hopeful to join other competitions in the future.

Mabena also won Mr Face of eMalahleni Public Choice 2019 and was crown best model of the year at Mr Mpumalanga in 2020.

Simphiwe said that even though he did not win the title, he is still committed to helping his community by giving back to children. The selfless young man has been donating school uniforms to children that come from disadvantaged backgrounds.

“I am very committed to my community; I entered these pageants because I want to give back to my community,” Mabena added.
