Taps remain dry for more than a week

This time the residents from eMalahleni were mistaken, the problem would take more than a week to fix.

Residents from certain areas of eMalahleni are at wit’s end as they have not had water for more than a week now.

On Thursday morning, May 27 some residents in various areas reported that they had running water again.

The problems started more than a week ago on Monday, May 17 when the water pressure in certain areas started to drop, and then there was no water. As per normal many residents thought that the problem should not take too long to fix and the water would be back the next day.

This time the residents from eMalahleni were mistaken, the problem would take more than a week to fix.

“Residents could start expecting water from Friday, May 28 if no other unexpecting problems occur,” Mr Lebo Mofokeng, spokesperson of Emalahleni Municipality confirmed on Tuesday, May 26 to the WITBANK NEWS.

Temporarily JoJo tanks and rudimentary infrastructure were located within strategic areas to assist during the water outages.
