Mayor presented warm blankets to Divine Life House Ministries in eMalahleni

Divine Life House Ministries is ready for the winter's onslaught.

The Executive Mayor of Emalahleni Cllr Linah Malatjie presented blankets to the elderly people of Divine Life House Ministries.

The warm blankets were accepted with warm hands at the church on Sunday, May 16.

In her address, the executive mayor urged the people to open up to celebrate with dance and singing as they listen to the beat of the songs.

She said the elderly people were a blessing and they should be treated with respect. They were presented with blankets, sanitizers, and masks. She also thanked the sponsor of the blankets, MaxPro for their contributions.

“As we approach the winter season, we need to keep warm, sanitise, and keep the social distance as per the regulations. We as the municipality are having negotiations also with sponsors for our children to do learnership programmes and practicals with them. We have also started a programme to give dignity packs to boys so that they are not left behind as we previously give sanitary packs to girls to balance the genders,” said the mayor.

The mayor also encouraged the people to share love and wished all the mothers a happy belated Mother’s Day and a Father’s Day in advance.

The event was graced by the presence of the Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Mr Nathi Mthethwa, and the chief whip Cllr Connie Nkalitshana.

The church thanked the executive mayor and her team for the gifts.
