Keep your ‘hood’ clean is in your hands

The municipality suggested that the complainant should adopt the park in order to ensure regular park maintenance.

The local municipality in conjunction with residents started a project to clean up the park near Krige Street in Extension 8.

The campaign was launched after a resident in Krige Street complained about the park not being cleaned and abandoned.

The municipality suggested that the complainant should adopt the park in order to ensure regular park maintenance.

‘The Keep Your Hood’ campaign was then launched and their first clean up happened on April 29.

The municipality offered workers to help with the project; some residents in the community also lent a helping hand to keep their park clean.

They also offered cleaning equipment including refuse bags, gloves and shovels to ensure the project becomes a success.

Over 16 bags of dirt were collected at the end of the day and all the trees in the park were trimmed.
