Parents meeting at school leads to death

Although the event leading to a violent outbreak started to brew on the morning of the incident, no one knew what the outcome would be.

It all started with a statement that was sent out to media houses to inform the community of a possible protest at Laerskool Duvha Park.

Although the event leading to a violent outbreak started to brew on the morning of May 7 at Laerskool Duvha Park, nobody had an idea that a planned protest will end up in someone losing their life.

“The community of Duvha Park and parents of learners at Laerskool Duvha Park are cautioned of the violent protest at the school by angry community members who are demanding access into the school premises. It is alleged that the protesters want to hand over a memorandum of demand to the school principal. Parents are advised to delay taking their children to school this morning and community cautioned to approach with care,” the statement read.

The School Governing Body (SGB) call upon a meeting on the same day, May 7 with the parents and at the meeting chaos broke out, quickly escalated into violence and vandalism where the 22-year-old, Trevor Dladla was stabbed with a sharp object.
