Possible water supply interruption at Phola and Ogies

During this period water provision will be through water tankers.

The Municipality is a Water Services Authority and Water Services Provider responsible for water services within the Municipal Jurisdictional area.

This main includes ensuring that there is adequate bulk potable water supply to all areas and that there is enough water retention in the system to sustain supply should there be an unforeseen event.

The main source of potable water supply for Phola and Ogies is through mine water reclamation.

This particular plant had an unplanned breakdown at a particular section of the plant. This has affected the quantity of water supplied to the community of Phola and Ogies.

During this period water provision will be through water tankers. The system should be normalised by April 24 and the water supply should be restored.

The Municipality apologizes for the inconvenience caused and pleads with the community to use water sparingly and safely as the entire country is faced with an even more dangerous second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
