Three murdered, four days apart

The bodies were removed from the scene and were taken away by pathology services.

More and more lives are taken in violent crimes in and around eMalahleni; the motive for most of these crimes are unknown.

On Sunday, March 28 at 06:20 police officials from Witbank Police Station attended a scene in Pine Ridge.

When they arrived on the scene they found two people standing by a vehicle.

The two men said that there was a body of an unknown man in the white Corolla that was parked inside the garden.

He was lying face down in the back seat with no sign of life, and he had assault marks all over his body.

Members from the Local Criminal Record Centre (LCRC) and pathology attended to the scene.

On the same day, another incident happened and an attempted murder case was opened. The incident occurred at approximately 22:30.

The complainant and her husband drove from Verena to their house. Inside their vehicle was another person travelling with them.

Once at the couple’s house they went to the bathroom and left their friend outside. While the couple was inside the house they heard the shouting of an unknown man who said he was armed with a firearm.

The couple went out, and they found their friend and an unknown man waving firearms around. Suddenly a shot was heard, and it was unclear who fired the shot.

Once all the commotion was over, it was clear that the unknown man was shot in the leg.

Another incident occurred on Wednesday, March 24 at 19:30 in Maskhane Village in Duvha Park.

When police officers from Witbank Police Station reported on duty they received a complaint about a shooting incident that happened near Mashakane Village where two people were shot dead.

Officers arrived on the scene, and they found a Ford vehicle standing still with two people inside the vehicle. One was a woman seated on the passenger side and then the driver who was a male.

Both driver and passenger succumbed to their injuries from the gunshots they sustained. They were shot through the window of the vehicle.

LCRC and relevant role-players attended to the scene. The bodies were removed from the scene and were taken away by pathology services.
