Man found murdered in Walter Sisulu Street

The security officer noticed that the one suspect had a bag in his hand; he noticed that a person was lying on the ground

A 56-year-old man was shot and the reason for his death is still unknown.

On Thursday, March 11 at 21:20 an investigator received information about a murder and contacted his partner to go to the scene together in Walter Sisulu Street.

The investigators saw two security response vehicles parked on the side of the road with the hazard lights on, one of the security officers explained that this is where the murder occurred.

While he was driving, he heard two gunshots and he noticed two unknown men approaching him with a white Isuzu bakkie.

The security officer alleged that the driver of the bakkie stopped and the two unknown men started running in the security officer’s direction and they disappeared into the dark.

The security officer noticed that the one suspect had a bag in his hand; he noticed that a person was lying on the ground.

When the security officer went to the injured Mr George Malanzela (56) was lying on the ground, he was bleeding profusely; Malanzela succumbed to his injuries soon after.

Ms Anabela Malanzela spoke fondly of her husband who was killed so tragically.

The couple has been together for many years, they got married in 2006.

“We have been happily married since then,” said Anabela to the WITBANK NEWS.

On Friday, March 19 Anabela travelled to Mozambique where the funeral took place.
