Robbers going for Gold
No serious injuries were sustained, and an undisclosed amount of valuable jewellery was taken.
A jewellery shop in Highveld Mall has been targeted by robbers again.
On Sunday, February 7 two males entered the store, pretending to be customers before allegedly robbing them.
One of the sales staff members asked how they can help; one of the two males then took out his firearm and told the sales staff that it is a robbery and they should open the cabinets.
The other suspect received a phone call and told his associate that they should leave. They asked the staff member to open the gate and give them the key. The security was told to move back and the robbers left the scene.
No serious injuries were sustained, and an undisclosed amount of valuable jewellery was taken.
JP Bbenkele, Highveld Mall General Manager said: “The incident is being investigated and we are happy to announce that there were no injuries on-site and that there were no shoppers in the store at the time of the incident. Highveld Mall is assisting with the trauma counselling of the store staff.”
