Langamed Emergency Management was immediately dispatched to the scene for medical assistance.

Numerous pedestrian accidents have happened in the same street of which the most recently this past weekend.

Springbok Street made headlines again after a child was accidentally hit by a vehicle on the corner of Eland and Springbok Street on Saturday, January 16.

Mr John Chapman was present when the accident occurred and alleged that the child ran in front of the moving vehicle.

“This accident was not the driver’s fault as I saw everything that happened,” said a nearby resident, Mr Lucas Smit.

Langamed Emergency Management was immediately dispatched to the scene for medical assistance.

“The injured child was rushed to Life Cosmos Hospital. The patient sustained serious head injuries but not life-threatening,” said Langamed’s CEO Mr Dino Padayachee.

The driver of the vehicle was too traumatised to speak to the media on the scene and did not want to comment before going to print.
