Minors left alone at home in Siyanqoba after a fight

The children have been taken by the social workers into a place of safety.

Two young children aged two and four years old are believed to have been left alone at their home in Siyanqoba by their mother.

According to Ms Sonto Nyembezi a community leader, the children were left alone at Siyanqoba but their mother went to Old Coronation. The incident unfolded on Friday, December 4 at about 23:00.

It is said that the mother left the two children alone and went on an outing with a boyfriend at her old shack in Old Coronation.

While she was out there her fiancé and the father of one the children came to the house and found the children alone.

He followed her and found her with her new man and a fight ensued between the two men, the father was shot twice in the stomach and the two fled the scene. The man has been hospitalised at Witbank Hospital.

Ms Nyembezi added to say that neighbours confirmed that it was not the first time that the young children are left alone and the couple are always fighting and a protection order has been opened against the father.

The couple is nowhere to be found, and they have switched off their cell phones.

The children have been taken by the social workers into a place of safety.

A case of attempted murder has been opened by the police, and they are appealing to the community to contact them if they came across the two suspects.
