ActionSA president and former DA member Mr Herman Mashaba with the two DA deflectors Ms Narita Naidoo and Ms Meisie Malaza who joined his party. Mashaba visited eMalahleni on Monday, December 7 to welcome the new members and others.

Mashaba said he was invited to the city after the two DA members, Ms Narita Naidoo and Ms Meisie Malaza and some other members indicated to him that they want to join his party and after some investigation, he accepted them and met them for the first time. He also added to say that they bring with them an abundance of political quality and about 150 members as well. Ms Naidoo is the former DA caucus leader.

“We are going to train them about the values of the party so that they carry the mandate of the 2,4 million South African voters to take the party to another level. We are going to work hard all over the country to achieve our goals,” Mashaba said.

He indicated that they were targeting the metros, they have done their visible study, and they believe those metros like Johannesburg, Tshwane and Ekurhuleni are winnable.

Ms Naidoo said the DA she joined 10 years ago was no longer the party that had the values that they promised the voters. She said the party was now corrupted and nothing was done about it.

According to her she raised the issues several times but nobody cared to intervene. She said they have been in silence for a long time hoping for the best but nothing changed and the DA was no longer their home.

Mr Mashaba later presented blankets to some ladies who have joined the party.

Mr Bosman Grobler from the DA Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature was contacted for comment on Monday, December 7 but said they haven’t received any official communication from the members.
