One birthday at a time

Staying true to their slogan: ‘Making wishes come true, one birthday at a time’, the Birthday Blessers had a busy month.
They hosted two separate birthday parties for four children during October.
The first party was hosted in the Central Business District (CBD) on October 30 and the second party was a combined party for three orphans at a local orphanage by founders of the project Nadine van Schalkwyk and Maureen Scheepers.
“It was a busy month but also a month where once again the community of eMalahleni showed us just how willing they are to help. It’s so humbling when people make contact to donate towards this project. We would like to thank all the donors for October, small businesses and individuals alike. We wouldn’t have been able to host parties for four children if it wasn’t for your help,” said Scheepers.
Although every month different parties have to be organised one thing is certain, the celebration stays the same as van Schalkwyk said,
“Every month is different but one thing remains the same, the joy and thankfulness in the eyes of the children. This makes it all worth it!”
They would like to thank the team of volunteers that attended the parties with them and help to make each party a memorable event in the life of a child.
The Birthday Blessers are already planning the November parties and would appreciate any form of contribution from the community; cakes, gifts or even party accessories.
