Attempted hijacking in Delville Street

A driver of a vehicle pulls out a firearm and chases the suspects away after they tried to hijack him in the Central Business District (CBD).

The incident happened on Thursday, October 22 at 22:30 in Delville Street.

The complainant was driving a Mazda 323 when he drove out of the petrol station.

He stopped at the traffic light which was red at that stage when he was approached by two unknown men.

They opened the doors and jumped inside the vehicle.

The suspects that were inside the vehicle pulled out a knife and held it up against the driver’s throat and instructed him to drive.

While driving, the complainant managed to pull out his firearm and stop the vehicle and fired two shots.

The suspects ran away and were picked up in a black BMW.
