Local fitness fanatic, Lelani on TV

FHA Fitness, Health and Active, a sister company of the Gresham Group, is ready for a smashing round of 5 Colour Fitness

Lelani Loots will always be a household name in eMalahleni as she began her journey in our midst as the ‘go-to’ personal and outdoor Bootcamp trainer a few years back.

“I’ve been living in eMalahleni most of my years. I was born here and went to Laerskool Reynorif and finished school at Reyno Park High School. I also met my husband, Wayne Potter here, so this is a special place for me,” said Lelani.

Lelani started as a qualified personal trainer at a local gym and after six years, started her outdoor Bootcamp.

“I started with four ladies and it quickly evolved up to 100 ladies. I had my outdoor Bootcamp for two years in eMalahleni and my husband and I made the decision to move to Centurion,” she added.

Fitness has always been a passion for her since she was a child.

If you had asked 10-year-old Lelani if she could jump as high as the boys, or run as fast, she would have stared you in the eyes, deadpan, and told you no.

“Then I will go jump higher and run faster than the lot of them,” she added with a giggle.

Now Lelani is starring in the famous 5 Colour Fitness TV show’s second season hosted by FHA that is a management and marketing leader in the fitness, health and active industry.

They are hosting the top talent and brand endorsements across different platforms globally.

FHA Fitness, Health and Active, a sister company of the Gresham Group, is ready for a smashing round of 5 Colour Fitness.

The show will continue to air on DSTV’s SuperSport Channel 9 (CAT) Africa from August 31.

“Season 1 was a huge hit for FHA and with it being a new initiative, we aim to empower all South African families with fitness and health regimes, whether it is at their local gym, or home. Season two has so much more to offer with food demos in the FHA kitchen, R5 000 cash prize and one of 15 Defy power blenders each week. We hope to keep on providing our locals with great tips to be fit, healthy and active,” said Executive Director for FHA, Berne van Zyl.

As for Lelani’s experience in this industry so far she says that it’s so rewarding to see the results of her clients.

“I see people achieving their health and fitness goals and that is my aim in life, to help people however possible and spread happiness along with health. A lifestyle is a choice and should be about balance and that’s where my passion comes in. I help my clients to get the exercise that they can connect with to make exercise a joyful experience and not a chore.”

As for her brand-new challenge of being a personal trainer on a TV show, Lelani is ready for this challenge ahead of her as she stays motivated by never quitting.

“The biggest secret is to start with simple goals and then progress to longer range goals and always remember to keep your goals realistic and achievable,” she added.

The 5 Colour Fitness show will broadcast Monday to Friday at 07:00 and again at 17:00, with repeats on weekends at the same times.

The exercises on the 5 Colour Fitness show will range from full-body workouts and beginners’ classes to extensive muscle building and weight-loss regimes.

Furthermore, the show has expanded by including food and nutritional segment which will be a highlight for season two.

“Viewers can look forward to lots of tips and advice from our trainers to be fit and eat healthy,” van Zyl concluded.
