Despite the apology given after the advert from Clicks surfaced, the EFF has vowed to “shut down” Clicks stores nationwide in protest.

On Sunday, September 6, the Clicks store at Saveways Crescent was damaged by a petrol bomb and today EFF supporters are demonstrating in front of Clicks inside Highveld Mall and also at Ben Fleur Boulevard.

Clicks is at the centre of a public outcry over a shampoo advert, which referred to black natural hair as “dry, damaged, and frizzy”, while white natural hair was depicted as “normal”.

Clicks at Saveways Crescent was petrol bombed.

The retail company posted an apology on all its social media pages on Friday, but many were not so forgiving, with some calling for a boycott of Clicks stores nationwide.

The protest at Clicks Highveld Mall and Ben Fleur Boulevard is peaceful and under control.
