One arrested for murder in Vosman

The man told police that the armed men took him to a bank and forced him to withdraw R16 100

A wave of crime engulfed Vosman this past weekend.

In just two days Vosman has seen three very serious crimes.

On July 31 a man opened a case of kidnapping at Vosman police station.

The man said he was standing minding his own business when three armed men pointed a firearm at him and forced him into their vehicle.

The man told police that the armed men took him to a bank and forced him to withdraw R16 100.

They then left him stranded.

The next day a man became the target of an armed robbery.

“The man said he was on duty at Extension 11 Keyona Tuckshop when two suspects entered the shop armed with firearms. One of the suspects hit him on the head and took an undisclosed amount of cash and stock valued to the amount of R500,” police spokesperson Capt Elizabeth Mkaudi said.

No arrests have been made yet.

Later that evening a 28-year-old man was arrested for murder in a separate incident.

According to information, two family members were arguing when one member picked up a sharp object and stabbed the other.
