Power outage at Botha substation due to repairs

One of the transformers has failed thereby reducing the supply capacity to consumers now with only one transformer currently operational

The power supply at Botha Substation is urgently required to be isolated this morning as it is currently unable to accommodate the load of consumers in Lynnville and Ackerville which are supplied from this substation.

One of the transformers has failed thereby reducing the supply capacity to consumers now with only one transformer currently operational.

The substation is currently being repaired and equipped with new equipment in the form of a 10 MVA transformer and switch gear.

Commissioning of the new transformer and switch gear is required to be finalized today and consumers loaded to the refurbished substation as the current supply is unstable and can fail at any given time due to overloading, as load reduction processes have recently been implemented.

Repairs are anticipated to be completed this evening at approximately 22:00 should everything go according to plan.
