Children’s Foundation extends a helping hand to orphanage

We want all kids, especially the needy to have their chance at a bright future

About 16 children aged 11-years-old received laptop packages from The Mali Langa Children’s foundation to aid with e-Learning in an attempt to help bridge the rift caused by the current national lockdown, for home-schooling.

“Inspired by The Mali Langa Children’s Foundation’s motto ‘Educate. Inspire,’ and Youth Month, the foundation identified a need within one of our existing projects for access to the technology needed to do schoolwork, and to access remote learning by donating 16 brand new laptops. We wanted to set up future leaders with the tools for their education and ultimately reach for their dreams. We believe that for 16 kids, we made that journey a little bit easier,” said founder and director of the foundation, Mali Langa.

Drawing funds and volunteers from Langa’s businesses, including TASK Interior Styling and TASK Logistical Services, each donation pack included a brand new laptop, a laptop bag, wireless mouse, as well as a set of three hand-crafted silk face masks and hand sanitizers.

The teenage boys and girls also received hygiene product basics in their pack.

“We are currently engaging with the home to determine their data and internet connection needs so that will be part of the donation as well,” she added

Langa said it is important that the next for the generation to be fully digitally conversant as South Africa propels itself through the 4th Industrial Revolution, and through the efforts of The Mali Langa Children’s Foundation “we want all kids, especially the needy to have their chance at a bright future.”
