Doc Nolan and Liz are booked into the kennels for seven nights

The community’s generosity ‘secured’ Doctor Nolan Landman and Ms Liz Oberholzer their executive suits’ at Witbank SPCA.

Doc Nolan and Liz will ‘book’ into their kennels on Monday, July 6.

In an effort to raise much-needed funds, local vet Doc Nolan and Liz are going to sleep in dog kennels.

They will not be allowed to take any luxuries with them. Forget about thick and fluffy duvets and pillows, they are allowed dog blankets.

“For every R5 000 raised we are sleeping in our kennels for a night,” Doc Nolan said.

So far R35 000 was raised.

The national lockdown has a severe impact on the income of the SPCA, due to no visitors to the society and the suspension of income-generating services and fundraising events.

Funds are drying up, but the society’s running costs are still the same.

The SPCA is in desperate need of kitten food, puppy food, adult food, cat litter, blankets, donations towards their vet bills, donations towards their fuel account and monetary donations for the centre to assist with running costs.

“We are in urgent need of funds and dog and cat food,” said the SPCA manager Ms Natalie Pretorius.
