An uplifter on all spheres

Hezekiel has hosted and been part of great inspirational and leadership seminars held in our town

Music, writing and lifting the community is some of Hezekiel Mabena’s long list of accomplishments and most people would know him as ‘Pondoza Psalms.

He uplifts the community on all spheres.

Hezekiel is a founder of a movement called The Builder’s Army.

He and his partners in the movement aim to help young girls to look beautiful for their matric farewell parties.

“The movement is driven by the need of helping young people to find their purpose,” said Hezekiel. He added that schools identify underprivileged girls who wish to attend their school’s matric farewell party but do not have a beautiful dress to wear on that evening. “We then source for the dresses, shoes and makeup artists for the girls.”

The Builder’s Army has helped at least 50 to 60 girls from local schools.

Hezekiel said that all that he does connects.

He also runs his sole businesses in line with the movement.

He is an entrepreneur who doesn’t forget to give back.

He also mentors and pays school fees for a few local boys.

Getting into writing, Hezekiel has managed to write and release an inspirational book called ‘I am Building’.

“The book was released in November 2019. In the book, I wrote about my struggles. There was a time when I contemplated to commit suicide and felt useless. When I won those struggles, I decided to write a book to inspire young people. It is a gift to those people going through what I went through.”

Hezekiel did not resist letting the world know that a second volume two of the book will be released and more books too.

Music has always been part of Hezekiel’s life.

Growing up in church nurtured his love for music.

He has been cooking an Extended Playlist (EP) of four of his gospel songs.

It is something his followers are to look forward to after the national lockdown due to Covid-19.

Hezekiel has hosted and been part of great inspirational and leadership seminars held in our town.

The Builder’s Army was also hosted two musical concerts free for the community.

His plans for all that he does is to continue helping young underprivileged men and women and “my biggest dream is to open an inspirational and leadership school under The Builder’s Army movement.”

He added that young men and women of eMalahleni have great talent but also need inspiration and leadership skills to put their talent in good use.
