Company donates food parcels to support the vulnerable

Umzamo Analytical Services (UAS) a Coal Sampling and Testing laboratory in eMalahleni reacted and donated food parcels to about 30 families from the community of Ward 21 through the Caring Community of Ward 21 group.

The emergence of the Covid-19 disease has not only seen communities to be vulnerable to the coronavirus but also brought indubitable suffering amongst the people in the communities due to loss of employment and limited financial resources to purchase food and other essentials. Umzamo Analytical Services (UAS) a Coal Sampling and Testing laboratory in eMalahleni reacted positively to this challenge by choosing to be a beacon in the Ward 21 Community.

On Thursday, May 14, UAS donated food parcels to about 30 families from the community of Ward 21 through the Caring Community of Ward 21 group (CCW21).

During the presentation of the food parcels the CCW21 leader Mr Bridge Ntobeng expressed his gratitude for the parcels received, “we have received food parcels from four different companies currently, but UAS has given more because parcels contain more items such as vegetables, we are grateful for the company’s’ thoughtful gesture and we also encourage the company to do the same for other communities” said Ntobeng. He added that CCW21 will ensure that the food parcels get to the intended families.

UAS through the Chief Executive Officer Ms Audrey Ndlovu has also donated groceries and toiletries to the Siphosenkosi Orphanage in eMalahleni during this lockdown period.

Umzamo Analytical Services (UAS) is a coal analysis and sampling company offering coal sampling and analysis services to a wide array of companies in the energy and coal industry. UAS was founded in January 2012 by Ms Audrey Ndlovu and still going strong.

The company wrote to each family receiving the food parcels:

“Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting all of our families, our businesses, our communities, and our way of life. During this time Umzamo Analytical Services wanted to reach out to people in need. This being said we would like to support our local communities where we live and work by contributing in feeding 30 families. UAS is pleased to donate this food parcel to assist you and your family during this difficult time. This moment reminds us that we’re all connected like never before. We’re called upon to be our best selves, with patience, understanding and compassion. On behalf of all of us at Umzamo Analytical Services please accept our contribution.”
