Tactical response leaves robbers thirsty in Emalahleni

The South African Brewery (SAB) was the target on April 14 after CSC Tactical security guards spotted some suspicious men strolling down Newton Street. Their swift response stopped a break-in in its tracks.

During this national lockdown period, alcohol is simply not an essential service but for the thirst of robbers, the law means nothing.

The South African Brewery (SAB) was the target on April 14 after CSC Tactical security guards spotted some suspicious men strolling down Newton Street at around 22:00.

They immediately got in contact with the security on duty at the brewery and their armed responders from CSC for backup.

“We were informed by CSC that suspicious men are walking down towards the brewery and we kept an eye on them,” said the security guard on duty at SAB.

On CSC armed response’s arrival, the guards caught five suspects busy loading alcohol beverages in dustbins and confronted them by scaring them away.

As the guards of CSC confronted these suspects they opened fire and started shooting at the guards.

It was a shooting war that broke out and one of the suspects got shot in the leg during this time.

This gave the guards time to apprehend the injured suspect and found that he had a stolen firearm in the possession.

Witbank Police were called to the scene where they arrested the suspect and confiscated the firearm that was found on the suspect and opened a police docket.

CSC Tactical prevented a huge break-in at SAB that night and managed to recover all the alcohol that has been stolen from the warehouse, a suspect and a firearm.
