Tweetmeets are global multilingual chats created by Microsoft
Education #MicrosoftEdu to connect educators on selected topics such as “Becoming Global Changemakers” and others previously discussed on Twitter.
“I am so excited to be approached to co-host this discussion together with other 17 educators around the world. I normally participate in Tweetmeets, but to host is just an honour for me. We have already prepared questions to ask educators during the discussion time,” said Nomusa.
These questions according to Nomusa, helps teachers to facilitate discussions in a more efficient and relevant manner.
“We will ask teachers to share their stories on how they help to engage learners to become Global Changemakers, benefits and challenges of becoming Global Changemakers so teachers will engage that way,” Nomusa explained.
The hosts have created a collection of resources and a sample of projects to assist teachers in enriching their classrooms as Global Changemakers on a Wakelet App.
Amongst other projects such as Sustainable Development Goals addressing poverty, hunger, climate change, health, and education will be available during the discussion time.
“Tweetmeets are not familiar in South African education context but more and more teachers do participate online as the excitement of the Fourth Industrial Revolution topic is getting popular in our country. Teachers can join or follow the hashtags #MSFTEduChat #TweetMeetEN #Changemaker #MicrosoftEdu.”
Educators in eMalahleni and other areas are advised to mark the date and time to join the discussion live on Twitter at 19:00, in the evening.
