Two survive after being shot and hit with a panga during attacks

A normal and quiet day can turn into a disaster when death calls for you. A man and a woman reportedly nearly died in two separate incidents.

On Friday, February 21 at about 18:45, the man got shot in the neck while he was driving at the corner of Lazarus and Smuts Street in the Central Business District (CBD).

He froze after hearing a breaking glass sound; then someone tried to open his door.

Luckily he was able to activate the central lock.

He noticed he was bleeding.

He was able to drive to the hospital where he was told that he had been shot.

The suspect is unknown.

The other incident took place in Old Coronation on Friday, February 21 at about 22:00.

The woman alleged that she was walking home with her boyfriend when an unknown man walked straight to her.

The man grabbed her by her bra. Another man came from behind and hit her boyfriend.

They both wanted to run away, but only the boyfriend managed to.

The woman was caught and hit with a panga on the head.

The suspects took the woman’s cell phone, R300 cash and ran away.

The suspects are unknown.

Both the cases were reported at the Witbank Police Station.
