A notice was published on Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) official website stating that campus activities have resumed at all TUT campus including eMalahleni campus.

The notice was published on Sunday, March 1.

It states that TUT management deliberated over three days on various memoranda on the issues that gave rise to the escalating student protest at various campuses.

It continues: “On Friday 28 February, Management met with the top 19 SRC’s from all our campuses. Based on a thorough analysis of the situation an agreement was reached between management and students that all academic activities will resume on Monday, 2 March 2020.
However, the University has resolved to attend to all issues raised by students as indicated in the attached responses. This will include, among others, the renovation of TUT owned residences and tending to issues related to NSFAS.
As far as NSFAS issues are concerned, the University will contact the national office to raise issues that are outside of TUT’s competence.
Management has also assured students that no action will be taken against those students who were engaged in organising the protest.”
