Armed hi-jackers mean business, one victim shot in the leg

The suspects took the victim’s cash, phone and vehicle

You can accept that when being hijacked, the suspects will be armed and how far they will go for your car is up to them.

On Tuesday, February 18 it is alleged that while driving in Duncan Street, a silver Polo came and blocked the victim’s vehicle and the driver of the Polo pulled out a firearm.

After a struggle, the victim was shot in his leg and his vehicle was taken by the suspects.

It is also alleged that on the same day another victim was stopped by a Toyota Hilux bakkie with three occupants inside the bakkie.

The victim was pointed with a firearm and forced to sit in the middle of his vehicle.

They drove off and dropped the victim at bushes near Etwatwa.

Three cellphones were also taken and the vehicle was later recovered in Soweto.

The victim was assaulted and bruised all over his body.

On Wednesday, February 19 it is alleged that the victim was on his way to Coronation while at a gate to drop off workers, the victim was approached by two unknown males.

He was pointed with a firearm and instructed to lay behind the seats, they drove off with the victim and dropped him in the bushes in Ogies.

His cellphone was also taken by the suspects.

On the same day, another victim was allegedly parked in front of the gate of his premises.

Then another vehicle parked behind him and two males came and forced the victim with a firearm to get out of the vehicle.

The suspects took the victim’s cash, phone and vehicle.

All four carjackings that took place involved firearms, where one victim was shot in his leg.

On Friday, February 21 a victim alleged that he was on his way to transport someone.

Upon arrival, two males got in his vehicle and the victim drove off when in Klarinet one of the males said that he was nauseous and the victim stopped the vehicle.

Then suddenly both men pulled out firearms and instructed the victim to get into the back seat, they took off his T-shirt to cover his face.

The victim was dropped in a bush along the Verena road.
