Robbers got paid over pay weekend

While one of the occupants of the combi was climbing out, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and forced him to lie down on the ground

Robbers ensured that they don’t go broke during pay weekend.

This past weekend multiple robberies with firearms occurred in our city.

On Friday, February 24 a man was sitting in his car along with his friends in a parking lot.

It is alleged that while they were sitting two unknown males approached them and when they reached them they pulled out their guns.

Allegedly the suspects took the victim’s laptop and cell phone before they fled the scene.

According to eyewitnesses the robbers left in a car.

Police are investigating this case.

On the same day, in Tasbet Park two unknown males approached a combi that was parked next to the road.

While one of the occupants of the combi was climbing out, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and forced him to lie down on the ground.

Allegedly the victim tried to fight back and that was when the suspect shoved the firearm against the man’s neck.

When more people arrived on the scene the three suspects made a run for it and with them they took belongings and cell phones.

A case was opened at the Witbank Police Station and it is being investigated.

Sadly on Saturday, January 25 a victim was injured by a suspect.

This incident occurred at just past midnight.

“I was walking home that night when this guy approached me; I was scared when I saw him. He pulled out a gun and he hit me with it. He hit me on the head and above my eye,” explained the victim who wants to remain anonymous.

“When I fell, he took my phone and wallet and he ran away,” the victim said.
